The hottest new group on the Jazz, Pop and Soul music scene will be on the Ossining Public Library stage, Sunday, January 17th at 3pm in the Budarz Theater. “FROM A2D” is a dynamic new jazz ensemble composed of Art Hightower on drums, Bill Conway on bass, Chris Reising on guitar, flute and vocals and Brotha’ Doug Smith on piano and vocals. Some of the tunes you will be treated to include “When Sunny Gets Blue”, “Here’s That Rainy Day”, “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore”, “My Funny Valentine” and “That Old Black Magic”. Art Hightower has performed with Chuck Mangione, Doc Severinsen, Pee Wee Ellis and most recently with the legendary David Amram. He is also part of the trio known as The ABC’s of Jazz. Bill Conway has performed with Doc Cheatham , Sylvia Syms, and Margaret Whiting and performed in a tribute to the late Django Reinhardt. Chris Reising has performed throughout the U.S. Europe and Asia picking up several new instruments along the way, and Brotha’ Doug Smith has performed also with David Amram, as well as with such greats as Sonny Sharrock, Ray Blue, and Kendall Buchanan.
