What People Are Saying

Camaraderie, support, encouragement, knowledge, smiles and sharing are what the Ossining Arts Council is all about.

— Bonnie Coe

After I retired, I started painting and joined OAC. I think every level of painter can benefit from the community provided by the Arts Council. The people I've met are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and welcoming, as well as talented. My OAC membership has definitely broadened my art appreciation on many levels.

— Carolyn Van Ness

I was invited to an OAC meeting not long after my husband and I relocated back to NY from CA. I joined up right away, because it was a fun group of like-minded people. As a teaching artist and art historian, OAC really helped me to find my niche here. I’ve been with the organization for around six years, have served on its Board and as its President, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Many close friendships have grown out of my OAC membership, not to mention numerous opportunities for teaching, networking, exhibiting and learning.

— Dr. Jill Kiefer

I was looking for a supportive community of artists. I found it in OAC.

— Elsa Rubenstein

OAC introduced a community of artists that made a huge difference when we moved to Ossining by enabling us to share our creative passions and learn from the art of other members.

— Keith Gordon

As an artist I am very pleased by the focus and care exhibited by the board of directors of this organization. Exhibitions are thoughtful and well constructed down to concern on how paintings are hung and the lighting provided. I find that the administration never forgets that they are artists too.

— Gail Dressner

OAC is a community of consummate creative professionals, supportive in every way, and it gives me the opportunity to get my art work off of my refrigerator.

—Ted Berkowitz

Having lived In Ossining and being an artist I looked for an art family and found one in OAC. I have met wonderful and talented fellow artists there. I have participated in lively meetings, focused membership projects and fun and interesting fundraiser art and music events. I recommend other artists come and join us!

— Renee Kilbride Edelman

Joining the OAC in 2018 helped my plan to sustain an art practice I was returning to full on.

Exhibit opportunities at the OAC are numerous and I saw beautiful professional work in the very first exhibit I participated in. I enjoy the company of art lovers and makers after long hours alone in my studio and appreciate opportunities to get to know them better and talk Art!

— Karen Allen
