‘Visite à Picasso’ (1950) 20m, dir. Paul Haesaerts A poetic treatment which includes the artist painting on glass while facing the camera, shot at Picasso’s home in Vallauris, accompanied by some fairly moody organ music in this very dark, but captivating film. The artist here takes on the character of an eminence-grise, an alchemist engulfed in the “sol y sombra” of his laboratory-studio, filmed in gorgeous black and white.

Fractal Recursion Art of Jock Cooper The term "fractal" was coined by Benoît Mandelbrot in 1975 and is a derivative of the Latin fractus meaning "broken" or "fractured."
A mathematical fractal is based on an equation that undergoes iteration, a form of feedback based on recursion. Jock Cooper has taken fractals from a mathematic curiosity to art.
On his website you can view many amazing still images. His fractal animations are mesmerizing. He also has a book titles "Fractal Recursions" published by Blurb. If you would like to try your hand at creating fractals, here are a few links to fractal generators to get you started. Mac OSX Windows Image: 41366533 by Jock Cooper Source: Wikipedia

“Throughout my work I find a common thread capturing the essence of the subject, creating a narrative portrait of life and self representation. To me, art is a synthesis of my personal feelings, expression and a combination of all that inspires me. Life experiences, beauty of form and expression of my inner thoughts and emotion influence me to create art.”
“My love for photography started at a very young age and is still my favorite means of expression. I feel that the nature of photography can portray fiction and provide an accurate representation of a certain subject. It has always been and will continue to be my most effective method of self representation.”
“Today I am teaching art in the Ossining School District for the past six years. I am currently teaching traditional black and white photography, digital photography and lifeskills art at Ossining High School. I am very proud to be working in a community that supports the arts as Ossining does.” — Harry Jacob Quiroga
