Laya Joseph

My name is Laya Abraham Joseph. I was born in Kerala, India, and now reside in New York. Over the past few years, I have taken up painting as my profession. My background as a botanist influences and inspires my art, with nature and landscapes serving as recurring themes. I work primarily in acrylic and mixed media. My paintings are abstract and semi-abstract, expressionistic in style, and often rooted in memory and personal experience. My work has been featured in several local exhibitions, including the Together apART exhibition (2021) at the ArtsWestchester Gallery in White Plains, a group exhibition (2019) at the corporate headquarters of Morgan Stanley in Purchase, NY, as well as numerous Ossining Arts Council exhibitions.
