Barbara Levine
Born and raised in Brooklyn, I actually did not know anything about Westchester. Art has always been in my life. My aunt was a wonderful artist and bought me my first set of oil paints, forever my favorite medium.
I graduated from The HS of Music & Art in Manhattan, 4 trains and a bus from our apartment in Brooklyn. From there I went to Pratt institute in Brooklyn and graduated with a BFA in graphic arts and illustration. A wonderful art filled education. I started working in publishing as a designer and had an amazing career on Madison Avenue as an Art Director for over 30 years. I designed books for MacMillan & Co., Holt, Rinehart & Winston and for over 20 years for Harper Collins, publishers where I designed jackets for fiction, non-fiction, children's books, and other variations. After my Madison Avenue career I freelanced and helped some local authors self-publish their books.
With it all, always painting and exhibiting with the OAC, The Ridgefield Artists Guild in Connecticut and the Images Gallery in Briarcliff Manor, among other venues.
